Biography

The Wisers are the beating heart of Canadiana, through and through. They are, Chad Thomas (guitar and vocals), JJ Shiplett (guitar and vocals), Greg Peace (bass and vocals) and Darryl Swart (drums). The Wisers’ debut record It’s Safe I’m not Here was recorded over six days at The Bathouse, the Tragically Hip’s famed Studio. The storytelling exhales the struggles of reluctant working life and the musician lifestyle. In its freshman year the band garnered 25 Canadian college radio adds, charting on 11 of those stations, peaking at #4 on CHMR St. John’s and were top 5 on The Hawk 101.5 for 8 months. They were 2014 X929 XPosure winners, and chosen as a top 12 finalist in the Alberta Peak Performance Project 2015, where they won the Peak Performance 2015 songwriting competition for “Goodbye”.
